Hi all! I recently bought a Lenovo G500 (20236), with the following specs:
Ivy Bridge Core I7 3612QM @ 2.1ghz
Intel HM76 chipset
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Device ID 3)
8GB RAM 1600MHZ (2x4GB)
500GB HD
Atheros AR5B225
I found out that my laptop (g500 20236), is one of a kind. According to the Lenovo website, my G500 only goes up to I5, and only the G780 should contain the I7. I really didn't know what the specs of my computer were.
So I started guessing that the G580 would come pretty close to my laptop specs. I followed the exact same steps as the OP, and got my Hackintosh working for 99%!
Problem was tho, that my WI-FI chip wasn't working, and wouldn't be working with OSX at all. My only option was to buy another WI-FI chip, so I bought the Atheros 9280 (Airport Extreme OOB). Guess what? My BIOS had a whitelist which blocked this WI-FI card.
I read in this topic that a few people had gotten their laptop with a Atheros 9284. My guess was that my BIOS would had this WI-FI card in his whitelist (pretty realistic assumption right?). So I bought that card too. But this card was ALSO blocked :S
Today someone finally got my whitelist removed, and am working with a OOB WI-FI card.
Furthermore; I've got USB3.0 working with the 2 left ports, with backwards compatibility with 2.0, and USB 2.0 on the right simultaneously:
1. I applied the EHCI DSDT patch posted by OP.
2. I installed the following USBIOFamily.kext:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...l-appleusbxhci-support-for-any-usb3-chip-v12/
(get the
IOUSBFamily-10.8.4-V9.zip file and install with kext installer)
3. Boot with kernel flag "EHCIacquire=yes".
I also applied the patch for functional brightness key, which also works.
One thing that I want to get to work is the VGA output, following this guide:
