If anyone else encountered this error, I was able to get to installation by booting with -v PCIRootUID=1

PCIRootUID=1 is the default for Chimera.

im back lol. I had this running for a while and love it. i have ubuntu on another laptop but want to put it on here as a separate partition, not another disk. i know how to create another partition and all, but i heard chimera doesnt recognize ubuntu after installation. any help? i havent tried this yet... i just want to be sure on somethings before i mess anything up lol

For Ubuntu to be recognized you must install grub to a partition, not the disk.

Hello:

Recently I did the dual boot (OSX / Ubuntu 12.04) on my Lenovo G580. Everything worked properly. But I have a problem.
When booting in Linux, reboot, and then start the OSX the USB 3.0 ports stop working.
I suspect that something is happening with the org.chameleon.Boot.plist

Any help?

Thank you very much!

My org.chameleon.Boot.plist

Hi all! I recently bought a Lenovo G500 (20236), with the following specs:

Ivy Bridge Core I7 3612QM @ 2.1ghz
Intel HM76 chipset
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Device ID 3)
8GB RAM 1600MHZ (2x4GB)
500GB HD
Atheros AR5B225

I found out that my laptop (g500 20236), is one of a kind. According to the Lenovo website, my G500 only goes up to I5, and only the G780 should contain the I7. I really didn't know what the specs of my computer were.

So I started guessing that the G580 would come pretty close to my laptop specs. I followed the exact same steps as the OP, and got my Hackintosh working for 99%!

Problem was tho, that my WI-FI chip wasn't working, and wouldn't be working with OSX at all. My only option was to buy another WI-FI chip, so I bought the Atheros 9280 (Airport Extreme OOB). Guess what? My BIOS had a whitelist which blocked this WI-FI card.

I read in this topic that a few people had gotten their laptop with a Atheros 9284. My guess was that my BIOS would had this WI-FI card in his whitelist (pretty realistic assumption right?). So I bought that card too. But this card was ALSO blocked :S

Today someone finally got my whitelist removed, and am working with a OOB WI-FI card.

Furthermore; I've got USB3.0 working with the 2 left ports, with backwards compatibility with 2.0, and USB 2.0 on the right simultaneously:

1. I applied the EHCI DSDT patch posted by OP.
2. I installed the following USBIOFamily.kext:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...l-appleusbxhci-support-for-any-usb3-chip-v12/
(get the IOUSBFamily-10.8.4-V9.zip file and install with kext installer)
3. Boot with kernel flag "EHCIacquire=yes".

I also applied the patch for functional brightness key, which also works.

One thing that I want to get to work is the VGA output, following this guide:
http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index....or-enabling-vga-and-hdmi-in-intel-hd4000-gpu/

Problem with USB. Try USBBusFix=Y or change BIOS settings for USB (if available).

I solved that error by adding EHCIaqcuire=Yes to my boot.plist OR / AND adding the EHCI patch to my DSDT. You can find the EHCI patch in the OP, in which he mentions to patch your DSDT with said patch.
