Audio - HDMI Audio AppleHDA [Guide]

I don't quite understand the guide. To get HDMI audio what parts should I follow?

I have an Nvidia 770GTX and the z97x-ud5h.

Anyone with a similar setup have any ideas on what I need to do?

Thanks!

For the original question from here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/158226-hd4600-hdmi-audio-alc887-possible.html

I followed the guide and patched DSDT and config.plist by myself, now both HD4600 HDMI audio & ALC887 audio can work.

But I got another problem now.

Here is the step that I patch my profile, show it first:

1. Using MaciASL, add the source as audio_hdmi_8series
2. First, patch AMI-Clean_Compile-8series, and then patch AMI-HD4600-AMD-Nvidia-A1
3. Add toleda/audio_CloverHDMI into config.plists/KextsToPatch, but only patch AppleIntelFramebufferAzul parts.
4. Install ALC887 AppleHDA from MultiBeast 7.2.0

After these steps, both devices are worked.

Here is a problem, when I plug HDMI on TV, and turn off the TV then turn on again,
The TV shows "No signal", and computer shutdown and reboot automatically after 5 seconds.

The attachment is my DSDT and config.plist
Hope someone can help me.

HDMI Audio Guides

  1. Select the matching processor graphics/motherboard series (see Requirements/3. Intel...)
  2. AMD/Nvidia HDMI audio is installed with every Desktop configuration
dsdt/ssdt HDMI audio

  1. HD4600/9 Series/8 Series

2. First, patch AMI-Clean_Compile-8series, and then patch AMI-HD4600-AMD-Nvidia-A1
Native dsdt, step2 should include:

  1. AMI-Clean_Compile-8series
  2. AMI-add_dsdt/PCI0/P0P2 (w/ssdt/PEG0)
  3. AMI-HD4600-AMD-Nvidia-A1

Thanks for reply!

I remake another DSDT file, but still with no luck.
If I unplug HDMI cable and re-plug it, the PC still get reboot.

Here is my spec:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 /w Intel Graphic HD4600
MB: ASUS B85M-G
Apple HDA version: ALC887 (current version) from MultiBeast 7.2.0
OS X version: Yosemite 10.10.2

The attachment zip file included OS X log, DSDT, config.plist, and IOReg.
I don't know why I can't find any log file about CLOVER, even I set Debug=YES.

BTW, I don't use SSDT.

EDIT: Maybe I found the reason:

1. HD4600 easily gets problem if SMBIOS is iMac, when I turn to Mac mini, it works fine.
2. Based on 1st point, if I remove DSDT, and set Graphic/Inject=YES, HDMI works fine, even unplug cable.
3. When I put DSDT back to CLOVER, the graphic shows Iris Pro; but it only shows HD4600 without DSDT.

EDIT2: Finally, I found out the reason.

I edit my KextsToPatch according from config-hdmi_hd4600-100.plist
And add patch only:
10.10-Azul-Port_0x5-DP2HDMI
10.10-Azul-Port_0x6-DP2HDMI
10.10-Azul-Port_0x7-DP2HDMI

If I remove these patches, HDMI audio lost, but will not reboot if I unplug and re-plug HDMI cable.

Toleda,

Is there a way to get HDMI Audio working with DSDT edits or Clover Configuring ACPI settings for a Nvidia GTX 750Ti. Or are all those only good for onboard HDMI audio?

10.10-Azul-Port_0x7-DP2HDMI

Port 0x7 is the only required patch for the connected display
Hot plugging HDMI results in an Intel driver crash, not recommended.

dsdt edts, yes (see Post #1). Clover patching, no.
The HDMI audio guides enable all integrated and discrete graphics combinations.
