Dual monitors not working on 660 Ti

My MSI GTX 660 ti has always done two monitors fine, but from the two DVI ports, never tried the HDMI. Have you done anything specific for the HDMI? I know you need dsdt edits to get HDMI audio working.

GTX 660 Ti doesn't wake up

Yep, lots of us have this issue with the 660ti (and other nvidia cards) on Lion and Mountain Lion. Take a read through the main 660ti thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-hardware-discussion/66611-660-ti-thread-questions-answers-here.html Lots of people say they don't have the problem...

Wel, maybe it's not seated properly in the pcie slot? or perhaps its a dead card.

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

@Fender73 Sounds like you haven't set graphics enabler=no in you boot.plist, for which ever bootloader you're using. Either that or the card is dead...does it work ok in Windows or Linux?

Trying a different DSDT for my mobo, it's brought back pci card details in system information app, which is a start. And I've been able to sleep the hack for a couple of hours and wake successfully. Time will tell if it's really nailed the wake from sleep issue that seems to go with the 660ti...

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

Adding the 660ti's device ID to NVDAGK100Hal.kext clearly isn't necessary to get it to work, but someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it did bring back proper pci info in system information (instead of the clearly incorrect "This computer doesn't contain any PCI cards."). So I'm...

Turned on 'wake by mouse' and 'wake by keyboard' in bios today, also moved FakeSMC and a couple of other kexts I hade in chameleon's /e/e to /s/l/e. And the computer has just woken fine after sleeping for 4 hours. Probably just one of those random sporadic successful wakings but I live in hope :/

I get that at wake, often paired with the PBDMA error. NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0x20 = PBDMA Error NVDA(Compute): Channel exception! exception type = 0x1f = Fifo: MMU Error Haven't been able to test my ideas about disk mounting mentioned yesterday – because my...

Exactly the problem I see. Often I can sleep and wake right away without problems, but walk away and have lunch and it's touch and go whether it will wake from sleep properly when I come back. I can still ssh back in, but even issuing shutdown from the cli doesn't work properly (ends ssh...

Thanks for stopping by :) I can confirm that with 10.8.2 and the latest Pixelmator from the app store ( Version 2.1.1 Cherry (20831) ) the stuttering and freezing are gone, full screen works fine. iirc the Pixelmator update notes even mentioned fixes for stuttering of effects etc. So we...

I do have that 'no pci cards' issue. With my 550ti iirc using an efi string in the chimera/chameleon boot.plist sorted that, but not tried that with the 660ti on account of it being 'graphics enabler = no'. dsdt edits would likely also fix that. But don't both those options work better with an...

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

That's the one I have. There are some issues, notably with automated sleep (in both Mountain Lion and Ubuntu Precise). And certain things in Pixelmator are a bit glitchy - all described earlier in this thread if you read back. Of course, who knows what different motherboard/bios/cpu...

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

So, something interesting happened last night, related to my occasional frozen graphics on wake issue. I booted into ubuntu (for wine/steam and the free copy of Borderlands 2 that came with the 660 :) and left it downloading the 5gigs of borderlands 2 whilst I crawled off to bed. Apparently...

What do you do to trigger that, can you suggest a specific filter to try etc? edit: ah yes, going into full screen for one, causes a large pause, running filters in full screen causes pauses, and eventually got a freeze. sigh. lots of nvda channel exception errors in system.log as per usual.

Nothing much said in that thread. slugnet has no issues, other people do have sleep issues. About the only bit of advice is to buy the evga 660ti as its closest to reference. So maybe the msi I got was a poor choice, oh well :) I have set the energy prefs to 'never' sleep the computer, but...

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

Sadly I've seen issues with sleep surface too. 3 or 4 times now the hack has failed to wake from sleep properly, in particular the graphics card doesn't seem to wake (i can often still ssh in). At least one of these occasions it was following automated sleep (schedule in energy saver prefs)...

Quoting Netkas "basicaly, if your video ram amount > 2GB by at least 1 byte, then you are screwed." So I misread that, since he says 2GB. But yeah, it's such a simple hack to the framework it's probably worth doing if you have problems with a 2 gb card, as g4sho says.

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

Are you sure? I thought it was a literal 2000 mb limit, so 2 gigs, which is actually 2056 mb or whatever does cross the line. I applied that fix to my msi 660ti 2gb card. I'm sure I mentioned this earlier in the thread :) Looking at my notes it seems I did the 2gb fix to openCL framework and...

Ooh, that's interesting. I'd wondered how to get the PCI info back. Might add the specific device ID too then. Doesn't seem to do any harm and fixes the cosmetic issue of the PCI cards in system info.

The 660 Ti Thread: Questions and Answers Here!

g4sho do you have darkwake 0 in chameleon/chimera boot.plist ? and anyone else having sleep/wake issues. that turns off power nap afaik, which doesn't work on hacks.
