Hello Guys

Trying to update ML with YOS following this tutorial i get so far and my screen goes off / black?

I have tried several flags -x -v GraphicsEnabler=No & -x -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes but my screens just goblack and off??????

I have no idea why it is failing or what on as i cannot see the error before it shuts down.

Would really like some guidance please :)

The only thing i can add by memory i have 2 GC both same make & model and when i installed ML; some great guy in the old chat room talked me through making a kext to support both cards. But i cannot remeber anything else about it now sorry.

Just give a try with "PCIRootUID=1 nv_disable=1 -f"

Hi Jithin

Thank you for your reply; your flags worked. Without getting too drawn out; I now have another issue.
I use the flags and was able to load Yosemite over Mountain Lion after the tutorial. The issue arises when I get down to number 8.
Even though I have installed Yosemite but I cannot boot from the main SSD drive. I can boot from USB and select the drive. By using the flags provided I am able to login to your Yosemite I then used Multibeast with the options.

When I first logged into Yosemite my system looked fine Audio was not working but I expected that; but Network was fine. My graphics were supporting my multi monitor’s and looked good.
I choose the correct settings from Multibeast for Audio and those shown in the tutorial. I tried rebooting from the SSD but it would not work even with flags just goes to the Apple grey screen with an empty loader bar and sticks there doing nothing.

I can only boot from my SSD via my USB???? I have to use the flags when I got back in my system looked trashed from Multibeast. I lost monitor support down to 1 monitor screen was flashing.
Unable to use Chrome the browser I guess it due to graphics mess up. So I am in a real mess . I have tried using the DSDT for my motherboard as it is on the list re ran Multibeast buy same errors.

In short
I have Yosemite installed but can only access via the SSD from my USB and when it loads I have part grey loader screen then changes into black screen with white loader bar before arriving at Yosemite login screen.
I have poor graphics and my monitor’s and resolution I am not abler to alter. Not sure if I have screwed up doing this but followed it to the word.
Not sure if it helps I have Time machine files from when I had ML on a separate drive.
Please help

If using Chimera as boot loader and installing Yosemite over Mavericks, copy DSDT if you have one to desktop. Delete the /Extra folder, reboot with USB, select OS X icon, use boot flags you used before with addition of -f to force the system re reload all kexts from scratch and rebuild the caches. Run MultiBeast with UserDSDT and audio+networking selections. Reboot

Hi Going Bald

Cheers for your reply i have tried it 3 times and still same issue.

Cannot boot from SSD even with flags!

I can boot from SSD via USB only and it still looks poor very slow and screen flashing struggling to render i cannot even run Chrome. Multibeast will run and i followed your instructions but it will just not boot from SSD.

FYI this is a seperate SSD just for OSX

Cheers

open Finder->Extra->org.chameleon.boot.plist in editor of your choice.
delete the internal gfx=yes key/string totally - you are using discrete GPUs
for the 8800GS edit Graphics Enabler=No to GE=Yes, save, control+Q to quit editor. Reboot -f -v & report results

HI

My boot.plist does not have the gfx

Try removing the lines highlighted in bold text from your org.chameleon.Boot.plist
