Hi all,

So, I previously had a working, stable hackintosh running 10.7 on an ASROCK H61M-HVS. I really wanted to upgrade to Mavericks or Yosemite (I'd take either) so I could use some software that no longer supports 10.7. Well, I tried to upgrade with Unibeast on a separate installer partition, both Yosemite and Mavericks, and that didn't work. I thought, maybe this mobo is just too old and busted, so I upgraded to an MSI H97 PC Mate with a new i3-4150 CPU. (I needed a refresh anyway)

Now, I can't get to the installer for either Mavericks or Yosemite using the latest version of Chimera. It loads a bunch of kexts and then crashes straight to a reboot. The kext it seems to be stopping at is either TMSafetyNet.kext or Unsupported.kext - it scrolls so fast it's hard to see. I've tried just about every boot flag I can think of, and I've removed a stick of RAM - nothing changes. Of course, my old 10.7 install doesn't work anymore, so I'm stuck using Windows, which is installed in a separate partition.

I tried to use Clover, but I could not get anything to work in Clover for me at all. It would just go to a black screen with a cursor, then reboot into Clover whenever I pushed a button. So I gave up and went back to Unibeast with Yosemite 10.10.2.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Specs:
CPU: i3-4150
Mobo: MSI H97 PCMate
GPU: Nvidia GTX 520
Partition 1: 10.7 (broken)
Partition 2: Windows 7

Would wiping my 10.7 and old chimera bootloader partition be helpful?

Are there kexts that are usually problematic that could be deleted?

I tried deleting some of the kexts that are loaded after TMSafetyNet but this did not help or even cause the install to fail differently.

I also realized I needed to update the BIOS, so I did that (v5.6) - still, no change.

I have now also tried taking out both the external cards (one was a compatible network adapter, and the GTX 520) and then using the HD 4400 fix - still didn't help or even change where it freezes up. :(

So, it turned out that I'm an idiot and/or somehow my BIOS reset its settings to turn CFG Lock on, which was causing the problem. After that, I was able to install Yosemite using both the HD4400/4600 fix method and with my regular supported video card using Unibeast.

Now I'm having huge boot problems (mach-0 file is malformed, invalid magic number) but hey, at least I installed the darn thing.

Why don't you use 2 disks instead of partition.
I have similiar VGA card, I need to set multibeast using NullCPUPowerManagement option.
