Hello there,
just finished install, is working smooth but with some issues.

-INSTALL
had some kernel panic errors on boot and extraction errors on install, fixed with: maxmem=4096 no-zp

-POST INSTALLATION
booted with: maxmem=4096
Multibeast:
DSDTFree
-Drivers Audio: ALC1150
-Drivers Network: AtherosE2200Ethernet...

reboot, done.

After all my graphics card appear as AMD Radeon HD 7xxx and my memory appear as 1333Mhz instead of 1866Mhz, not sure how to fix it yet, geekbench score seems a little low too, will try to fix the ram to see if gets better.

If anyone know how to fix it please post it here, tyvm

Hi,

I have msi gaming 5 z97 but i can't boot yosemite.
I try but, stuck on the graphics card check!

My Graphics Card Gtx 760,

Can you help me ?

(my english so bad, sorry for that)

I can´t get the installer to boot.
I think the problem is, that cfg lock setting is not available in my bios (2.2)
I have the MSI Z97 gaming 3
Can you access the cfg lock setting in you bios (Cpu features)?
wich firmware do you have?

oger - you commented on the UniBeast article for installing OSX on any supported pc. That thread is not used for desktop support. There appear to be Apple users having similar issues - it looks as if non Apple RAM may be issue. Not a lot we can do when using PC hardware. What RAM are you using and what are the RAM settings that you are using? What other options are available - is there a best stability type setting and Profile 1 option?

Hey, sorry I posted in the wrong Thread!
I am further now. I updated the bios, and now after I disabled the cfg setting (now present) it started the installer.
But I had several freezes and trouble formatting my drive.
Now I get this:
osx could not be installed on your computer
an error occured while extracting files from the package „essentials.pkg“
Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again.

Bootflags I used:
PCIRootUID=1 maxmem=4096

Memory I am using:
8GB (2x4GB) CRUCIAL Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 CL9
as recommended.
I never changed any memory settings in the bios. Just the recommended changes described.

Could this be the issue?

Possibly - Memory has caused issues since the 10.9.2 update - Apple changing things? The fact that some Apple users are also having memory issues when installing could be down to Apples extremely tight specification for their own RAM - thats just an unproven theory right now though.

Read through this thread quickly and you will see people putting the original Apple RAM back into their machines and everything works fine for the installation process:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6613145

Have a look at the RAM options that you have available to you. Let me know what they are and I will make some recommendations as for what to try. This process will be trial and error. If we cannot get it to work using UniBeast then Clover may be your best option.

Yeah, I remember, when I upgraded my RAM on my Imac I used to get freezes once in a while.
Was using Hynix then I switched to Kingston and everything was fine.
Anyways, here are my DRAM Settings:

DRAM reference Clock>Auto
DRAM frequency>Auto
Adjusted DRAM frequency 1600mhz
Extreme Memory profile (X.M.P)>Disabled
Memory Try it!>Disabled
DRAM timing Mode>Auto
There is advanced DRAM configuration but it is greyed out, so I cant change anything right now
I could access the DRAM Training configuration. Never changed anything here.
Memory Fast Boot>Auto

Then there's a menu that lets me see all the settings of the RAM but it is read only.

Thanks for the help.

I have just had a look at this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/bios-uefi/143167-msi-9-series-motherboards-os-x-setup-configuration.html

The configuration that you are using seems to be the same as was used by Tonymac and therefor looks to be OK. A quick look on some of the MSI forums suggests the same.

DRAM reference Clock>Auto
DRAM frequency>Auto
Adjusted DRAM frequency 1600mhz

It is probably best leaving the above settings alone although it would be interesting to see what other options were available. These setting are fine as they are so do not need changed.

Extreme Memory profile (X.M.P)>Disabled

I might try setting this to 'Enabled', if you have any adverse issues such as the RAM model not recognised properly then change it back.

Memory Try it!>Disabled
DRAM timing Mode>Auto

I would leave these alone.

There is advanced DRAM configuration but it is greyed out, so I cant change anything right now

This might become available with changes made to the DRAM reference clock or frequency settings. I don't see there being any gain in changing these settings for the problem that you are having.
I thought that you may have had an obvious wrong setting or some settings that could be experimented with a bit more. Its looks like trying different RAM sticks would be a good option CL10 or CL11 if at all possible. There are a few threads where it always seems to come back to changing the RAM:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/search.ph...cting files from the package „essentials.pkg“

I got further!
Managed to get everything installed. Had to connect the imac throug displayport.
VGA always got stuck.
Flags used:
-x -no-zp

Ran Multibeast restartet:
boot0 error.
Now I'll have to tackle that. Never ends.
But at least I'm this far already!
