I also noticed the soft fonts and my monitor under osx is not as bright as under win7. It is also not as bright as my iMac under osx whereas win7 is. I tried the terminal entry and it sharpened the font a little but it gave my display a pink hue that I didn't like so I reverted. Thanks anyway but I guess it's a resolution thing. I have an LG 1942 at 1440x900 and I think that a higher resolution display would look better.

I bought a Benq G2222HDL and at 1920x1080 it looks great, better than my iMac.
