hey guys, set my hackintosh up a few months ago and this is the only kink i havent tried fixing yet. its the Audio. When i first installed SL from the disk, the audio was working perfectly, after that i updated to 10.6.7 and ran multibeast etc etc. when i booted back up everything is working nicely, except for my sound. the sound works, except it is 'crackly' and has alot of 'noise'. i think when i installed multibeast i installed the VoodooHDA thing as well. I remember when i installed SL before running multibeast and the 10.6.7 combo update, my sound was perfect, no noise, no crackling.

So basically is there anyway i can get the audio kexts from the original snow leopard disk and implement them into my working desktop running 10.6.7?

Cheers,
Dale

I didn't use voodoohda when I had that board. Realtek ALC888 kext was in multibeast though. I don't have access to mb at work or I'd post a screen shot but take a look in mb and only select the alc888 one (along with system utilities as usual)

is there a way i can remove VoodooHDA before i install the ALC888 kext?
