To tonymacx86: I tried everything including Onyx, no luck. The Finder was still down. So I have to reinstall.
You can see my original approach here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=53. But since tonyd's suggestion is very interesting, I decided to give it a try.
I downloaded his file, and put it in my HD instead of what's on the BootCD. And I was amazed: the built-in audio worked! I didn't get it working in my last install not matter what I try. Totally magical. One thing though: I believe tonyd didn't have a PATA drive in his rig, so he deleted the JMicronATA.kext. I have two of those drives, so I have to copy it back.
The sleep/wake is actually simple: I read a tutorial saying you need to change the BIOS setting for sleep to work. So I did that: in "Power Management", change the suspend type from default S1 to S3. That's it. My Hackintosh now sleeps and wakes up perfectly.
