Hi

My first post, I've been running 10.6 (all versions) on my my build now for some time (Q9550, EP45-UD3LR, 9600 GT 1GB, 6GB RAM) which is my daily work machine.

Due to requiring a fully working machine to earn a living I've set up a 10.7 Drive to tinker with until things are fully working.

Lion is now installing after making changes to the smbois.plist for serial number and including a modified extra folder on the install partition.

Hope to have all functionality before I make the move from 10.6.8 to 10.7 (hopefully be 10.7.1 with Adobe bugs fixed also)

• Sleep Wake
• Full graphics support, Open GL.
• Ethernet
• Audio
• Temp sensors working fully (I run iStat Pro to keep an eye on core temps)

I'll keep this thread updated with my findings.

Hopefully if you're running the same M/Board it'll come in useful.

Thanks

Graphics cards working showing 512MB of RAM instead of 1GB. Quartz Extreme appears to be working. Noticed some glitching.

Ethernet now works using 'Realtek Gigabit Ethernet 2.0.6' Kext courtesy of MultiBeast.

iStat menus working off the bat, temps showing accurate readings, thanks to NullCPUManagement from past experiences.

Audio and Graphics next.

Graphics working with GraphicsEnabler=Yes - String in boot.plist

Quartz Extreme and Core Image appear to be working.

Card specs still wrong, need to find appropriate kext and modify plist.

Will try SleepEnabler kext before patching the DSDT.

Sleep/Wake working with SleepEnabler.kext

Graphics card not showing 1GB still, OSX86 Tools fails to inject the string into boot.plist so will need to find a work around for that.

Graphics are fine, I can't apply a calibrated colour profile to each monitor for some reason (I run two displays). Clicking on a profile selects it for both displays.

Test for stability now over the next few weeks, wait for 10.7.1 to break it.

:D

Kernel is 32 Bit, 64 in 10.6.8.

5 Kexts reponsible:

BSDKernel
IOKit6.0
Libkern6.0
Mach6.0
System6.0

All pretty major then, unsure as to why, maybe processor age, or graphics cards?? I'm not sure.

Still showing 6GB RAM as expected.

Attempted to add Graphics Card Hex into boot.plist to resolve VRAM issue, results in glitching and loss of QE/CI. If it ain't broke and all that, Graphics Card is ancient and could do with being upgraded also.

*Appears* to be running stable, miffed at having a 32 Bit Kernel but I have plans to upgrade the build which would include an i7 2600K CPU.

Thanks

I've got the same mobo, and have everything working nicely except I get CMOS resets if I sleep - wake - restart.

Do you have this issue? You'll find your BIOS settings are reset to defaults on reboot if you do.

If you don't, I need to find out why :-D

DSDT patch...

The only kexts I've got installed are:
VoodooHDA
AppleHDADisabler (my own concoction :-D)
FakeSMC

So I'm guessing the difference is the SleepEnabler kext you're using... The question is what that kext is doing that the DSDT patches aren't doing. I really prefer not using kexts for stuff like this... ;-)

This helpful at all?
