Please recommend a monitor for my hack.

Going to give my 23" HP monitor to my father. Any suggestions for a good quality monitor I can purchase for under $300? No gaming, just photoshop and illustrator. Good solid type resolution is a must because of poor eyesight.

I have 22 model.

A lot of connection for this model HDMI, DVI, D-SUB, USB, Webcam, USB hub, speakers (poor sound on his speakers)

I use this for photoshop as primary monitor for desktop and secondary monitor for the laptop and occasionnaly on WDTV over HDMI.

As a plus webcam work OOB on macosx

Good quality for under $300 is hard to find ...

For PS I recommend NEC P221W. I've used it for over 2 years and it's awesome (after calibrating). It will cost a little bit more.

If it is too much get one of dell's u2412M or u2312hm. They decent and in ur budget range.

The price is almost too good to be true. I wonder if the text resolution would be better or worse with a LED monitor? The Dell looks like it could be a winner at $327.00.
