This is my second Hackintosh build. My first one was ~6 years ago so Clover wasn't around then. I wanted to upgrade my main workstation as well as give Clover a shot
First off, I absolutely love this case. I had found the same exact model on a Chinese website, so I assumed the case was coming from China and wasn't the highest of quality, but I am quite impressed. It's pretty solid, everything works as it should, and it looks sexy.
Installation Notes
Used latest Clover, which at the time was v2.3k_r3259
Anytime I mention "from guide", I am talking about this one: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html
Installation
- Assemble the components
- Disable Secure boot in BIOS
- Create Yosemite Installer USB from guide
- Install Clover onto USB from guide (UEFI booting)
- Added HFSPlus.efi
- Added kexts:
- FakeSMC
- NullCPUPowerManagement
- AppleIntelE1000 - Downloaded Intel-4600 config.plist from the tonymacx86 guide
- Opened up config.plist with Clover Configurator Vibrant and generated SMBIOS information (I used iMac14,2)
- Added config.plist to USB
- Booted with USB and boot flags
Code:
-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No
- Went through OS X installation from guide
Post Installation
- Install Clover onto EFI partition from guide (UEFI booting)
- Restart and boot into system drive
- Mount EFI partition using Clover Configurator
- Download https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC and run
Code:
audio_cloverALC-100.command
- Download https://github.com/toleda/audio_hdmi_9series/tree/master/ssdt_hdmi-hd6000+, move the .aml file to
Code:
/EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched/SSDT.aml
- Restart
- Do happy dance
As far as I know everything is working. Sleep works, audio works, iMessage is working.
I'm not sure about CPU Power Management stuff and C states P states, etc. I have done some surface level research on generating another SSDT, but I haven't tried anything yet. If anyone has some information on how to approach this, or if I even need to use it, much appreciated.
Overall very impressed with Clover. While guides and information about what kexts are needed seemed particularly sparse, I think I was able to get up and running in record time (a few hours).
