Comments

This is my second Hackintosh build. My first one was ~6 years ago so Clover wasn't around then. I wanted to upgrade my main workstation as well as give Clover a shot

First off, I absolutely love this case. I had found the same exact model on a Chinese website, so I assumed the case was coming from China and wasn't the highest of quality, but I am quite impressed. It's pretty solid, everything works as it should, and it looks sexy.

Installation Notes

Used latest Clover, which at the time was v2.3k_r3259

Anytime I mention "from guide", I am talking about this one: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html

Installation

  • Assemble the components
  • Disable Secure boot in BIOS
  • Create Yosemite Installer USB from guide
  • Install Clover onto USB from guide (UEFI booting)
  • Added HFSPlus.efi
  • Added kexts:
    - FakeSMC
    - NullCPUPowerManagement
    - AppleIntelE1000
  • Downloaded Intel-4600 config.plist from the tonymacx86 guide
  • Opened up config.plist with Clover Configurator Vibrant and generated SMBIOS information (I used iMac14,2)
  • Added config.plist to USB
  • Booted with USB and boot flags
    Code:
    -x -v GraphicsEnabler=No
  • Went through OS X installation from guide

Post Installation

As far as I know everything is working. Sleep works, audio works, iMessage is working.

I'm not sure about CPU Power Management stuff and C states P states, etc. I have done some surface level research on generating another SSDT, but I haven't tried anything yet. If anyone has some information on how to approach this, or if I even need to use it, much appreciated.

Overall very impressed with Clover. While guides and information about what kexts are needed seemed particularly sparse, I think I was able to get up and running in record time (a few hours).

Thanks, I have the same combo as you, minus the gfx card and worked like a charm. For future builders, keep the clover guide to the point with Tamagokun suggestions.

hi!

I've a problem with audio. I have the same hardware except CPU. I have I7 4790k. Can you help me please?

Beautiful build. I featured you on my Instagram page "hackintoshkings"

Hope that's alright! I think I might use this case for my next build.

Absolutely. Thanks! It's really a beautiful case. I love it, and have it sitting up on my desk next to my monitor.

Did you mount your EFI partition before running the audio command? You should have a realtekALC.kext under /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.11/. If not, try running that audio command until it works. When I ran it, all the default answers to the questions it was asking were spot on, so I didn't need to change anything. You might want to double check that it is able to determine the audio codec and other options correctly.
