I originally built this machine for windows gaming due to the fact i had a hackintosh before, but I really didn't have time to figure everything out, so i gave up. Then I got a Mac Mini so i had no use for a hackintosh all together. Well times get tough and the mac was easier to sell and I have a bit more time now so I gave it another shot with some new hardware and to my surprise it went a lot better than i thought it would. The reason I didn't do a custom loop water setup is because I never planned on OC my 670, then months later I did so i got the closed loop system for simplicity of installation.
When I was building this I had in the back of my mind that i might want to give it shot again, so I made sure I got an Intel processor and, after doing some reading, the GTX 670 was the best for Mac. I went with the MSI mobo because I already owned a Gigabyte board for my AMD and I did not like the BOIS very well. When installing 10.8, I didn't think that Mac OS X would recognize my memory and processor frequencies. But, to my surprise, it picked them up right up. Everything seemed to work with 10.8.4, perfectly, except for HDMI audio. I had to make my own DSDT for that, but i followed this guide and it was easy. http://www.tonymacx86.com/hdmi-audio/100492-easy-guide-ml-uefi-hdmi-audio.html
I am working on getting the SDD setup i am currently on a 500GB SATA II drive and switching to a 120GB SSD
i installed Chimera 2.1 and add GE=no and Verbose mode through MultiBeast and it boots fine
MultiBeast settings below. ONLY use UserDSDT if you have made your own DSDT for HDMI audio
9-1-13 Samsung 840 120gb SSD installed and all full functional- Except my DVD drive.
For some reason my DVD drive ejects on startup and will cause the system not to load but not really a KP i dont get any message it just quits loading.
10-27-13 Just upgraded to 10.9. Did a clean install and used my already made DSDT and used Multibeast to install and everything works great
