Question about OpenCore? What is the oldest chipset that can be used with OpenCore? Is it only for newer 3rd and 4th generation processors? I have some older Hackintosh builds that I would be interested in getting to work with OpenCore as well. One is in my build signature and the other are a couple of HP EliteBook 8460p and 8470p laptops. I was able to build a reliable installer for Catalina for the 8460p using a patcher to lay down the Catalina Install onto the USB drive and then built the EFI folder accordingly.

Thoughts?

I was successful with OC on my sig build with the X58A and ICH10R chipset using the instructions for installing Legacy on the OC site. I installed El Capitan at the time I tried it.
