VirtualBox vs VMware Fusion vs Parallels

This may be a dumb question but are you running the Bootcamp partition virtually on a Hackintosh? Does that mean I can install Windows and use say Parallels to run it? (Parallels can run a Bootcamp partition). I understand I can't actually 'boot' Bootcamp due to UEFI stuff and firmware, but if I can at least install Windows with it I'll give it a go!

Yes, it's possible with both Fusion and Parallels. Both are able to run from Windows installed on different partitions or separate drives.

When I transitioned from my Mac Pro to hackintosh, I pulled both my macOS system drive and Windows (Bootcamp) drive and just transplanted them to my hack. Then, just used Fusion to run that install of Windows virtually in macOS. Of course, I can always also boot directly from that Windows drive.
