I am currently running a Mac Pro 1,1 that appears to be about to give up the ghost. The problem seems to be the video card. Every time I try to play WoW, it eventually crashes with the entire screen going to yellow and black lines. (The entire system ceases functioning.)
Questions:
1)does my diagnosis of it being a video card failing seem to be reasonable? Are there other possible issues? (I just replaced the RAM about a month ago.)
2) I had been planning on making my first hackintosh next month anyway, and had been considering using this. Would there be any danger in going ahead and installing the new video card in the old system while I save up the money for the rest of the parts for the hack?
Thanks!
