USB ethernet adapter compatible with Catalina/Mojave?

Having just lost my LAN capability on 2 mobos (2 machines) in one week I am wondering whether to keep struggling with the mysterious problem or... just end-run around it by plugging in a handy USB 3.0 ethernet adapter gizmo. But I'm wary of such "plug/play" gizmos with Hackintoshen because, you know, drivers...

So wondering what makes and models of these adapters anyone here has used successfully with Mojave and/or Catalina. One of my hosts is Mojave, the other Catalina, and even fixing one of them right away would be a relief.
