I do not know if you all heard the news, but there is now a USB 3.0 solution for OSX. Barefeats has benchmarked the hardware (http://barefeats.com/wst10d.html).
The company that developed both the hardware and the drivers for OSX is CalDigit.
Here is their PCI exress card solution.
