Updating ML 10.8.4

I have an updates available box showing up on the desktop. When I click on it it wants to update ML to 10.8.5. I am confused as to what to do with the update. Am I going to have to go through the unibeast again or can I just update? Is there a step by step either way? Also, Maverick is showing up as well. What to do?

I installed my 10.8.4 updates back in August and they have not had a problem(knock on wood) and just need to know how to go about updating where I don't lose anything I already have. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you considered just moving straight to Mavericks (10.9)?
