Hey, I recently bought Rome total war from the app store, downloaded it and then installed it to my applications folder. I try to start it up and get:

"Rome Total War quit unexpectedly"

I'm not sure why its happening as I did do a little search on google but it seemed there wasnt anyone who has had this problem, so I thought i'd post it up on here!

Hope you can help
Thanks :)

It may happen because of graphic problem Hack get full acceleration of ur graphic card? Use OPEN GL viewer, Uniengine or Luxmark to check.

I am looking at openGL extensions viewer now..

I cant seem to find anything about acceleration, where abouts should I be looking to?

Thanks for the reply :)

can anyone help?

Do u apply ati 48xx patch for your version of osx , do u get full resolutionn on ur monitor, card name and correct memmory in system profile, That is from Apple menu, OGL Viewer correctly display the name and Tottal V ram of ur card and also confirm that ur system meets the minimum power taht game needs.processor , mammory etc....

yep I did install that patch

Yes, my resolution is what should be (1680x1050)

My video card's name is a ATI Radeon 4870 1gb and it says it is an ATI Radeon 4800 with 1gb memory

My computer should play this game with no problems

( I usually play call of duty 4, it is a little more laggy than on my windows pc but it still plays decent )

App store cames are famous for not working.

Do you have a proper framebuffer set on your smbios.plist?

Also, please verify your system if a proper framebuffer has been setup.. fire up your terminal and run this command:

ioreg | grep ATY

You should come up with a result like this below:
Yhengs-Mac-Pro:~ yheng$ ioreg | grep ATY
| | | | +-o ATY,Flicker@0 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000255, registered, matched, acti$
| | | | | +-o ATY_Flicker <class ATIFramebuffer, id 0x10000027e, registered, matched,$
| | | | +-o ATY,Flicker@1 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000256, registered, matched, acti$
| | | | | +-o ATY_Flicker <class ATIFramebuffer, id 0x10000028b, registered, matched,$
| | | | +-o ATY,Flicker@2 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000257, registered, matched, acti$
| | | | | +-o ATY_Flicker <class ATIFramebuffer, id 0x100000291, registered, matched,$

Side note: 'Flicker' is my chosen framebuffer, I've been playing Left4dead2 and CSS without lag and in high res. mode.
