I've just installed Yosemite on my computer I was running Mavericks before. With this new installation I've bought a new SSD Samsung 850. Since this drive comes with more space than the old one, I wanted Ubuntu additionally to be installed on.

First I installed Yosemite. Everything is fine. Of course, I installed Chimera.

In the second step I installed Ubuntu. No matter how I gonna do it, chimera does not see Ubuntu. I always installed Grub into Ubuntus Partition. Currently I have the following configuration.

1.Partition: Yosemite
2.Partition: /boot (ext2 --> Grub is installed into that Partition)
3.Partition: Swap
4.Partition: Ubuntu (mounted as /, ext4)

I was reading for days about similar problems, none of other solutions did for for me.

Anybody who could help or has an idea?

Chimera nor Chameleon support ext4 file systems.

Some people say it supports ext4, some say not. That's why I have installed grub into a separate partition with ext2.

Here is my fix:

I've created a tiny fat32 partition and installed grub into that partition. There is nothing else within this partition - no /boot or anything else. But this dirty trick made my Ubuntu Installation being bootable from Chimera.
