In the process of putting together the grocery list: i7-970, GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R w/ an ATI Radeon 4850 on hand (will be upgraded ITNF).
After having read around, it looks like I have a lot to look forward to with the motherboard. Many users are reporting solid installs without augmenting the boot.iso with any additional kexts.
I expect this to be a popular combination on the forums soon due to the i7-970 selling through the Intel Retail Edge program at 75% off. Also, the UD3R is a Tom's Hardware no-brainer and the best X58 board for those on a budget; you can even find it under $200 right now.
Anyone with the same or similar idea in mind for a build? Any suggestions?
