Since I was a complete newbie when attempting this, I'm writing this so any other newbie can follow the same process and have the same success without the headaches

My System:

Mobo: MSI H81i
CPU: i3-4330
SSD: 120GB Kingston V300
Case: Raijintek Aluminum Metis Series Mini-ITX
RAM: Crucial Ballistics Sport 4GB
PSU: EVGA 430W 80+
Bluetooth: IOGear GBU521W6
Keyboard: Apple Bluetooth
Mouse: Logitech (don't know what model)

Process:

  1. Download i-Boot Haswell here (http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=3) and burn to disc
  2. Boot with iBoot, install Snow Leopard from retail CD. Once you have booted and Chimera boot screen is showing with iBoot, eject the iBoot disc, put in the SL retail CD and press F5.
  3. Install FakeSMC.kext (from link above) and RealtekRTL8111.kext (from here https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-realtek-network/downloads - use the 1016 one). Use Kext Wizard for installation and make sure you rebuild permissions and the kext cache once kexts are installed. Also read this: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Realtek-Network/blob/master/README.md and follow the instructions. These will have to be downloaded using another working Mac as ethernet won't work yet on your hack.
  4. Boot using "arch=x86_64" boot flag. Snow Leopard boots in 32-bit mode by default and you need to force it to 64-bit to use the newly installed kexts which are 64-bit. This is the only way to get ethernet working.
  5. Download 10.6.8 combo update (use Google to locate on Apple website) and install
  6. Download Yosemite from Apple Store.
  7. Follow Clover Yosemite guide using EUFI install method. You will not be able to use createinstallmedia method for making a bootable USB, however, as this does not work in Snow Leopard. Alternative methods can be found on macworld (using Google, again)
  8. Once done, you will need to install VoodooHDA kext from here to get audio working. Available from a search on the forums.

Note: Start the install using the DVI connection. You can switch to HDMI once Yosemite is installed.

Thank you your post will help me a lot !
