[SUCCESS/GUIDE] Yosemite 10.10.4 / GA-Z97X-UD5H / i7-4790K / GTX 770 (2 GB) via Clover

iGraphster Hackintosh

 This is my first Hackintosh and I'm very happy that for the first time i have Successfully Installed OS X on a PC/CustoMac. Many thanks to everyone who is sharing their experience with the Community, now is my time to share what I've learned and how i did it.

 NEWS: The 10.10.5 driver no longer has the Checks in the Distribution File for System Profile. Read More...
 UPDATE: I have Successfully update the OS X to the last Version (10.10.5). No kext needed to be patched again.

Guide: How to install OS X Yosemite via Clover (10.10.4) and Fixes
(9-Series Motherboard)

  • 1. Download OS X Yosemite from App Store
  • 2. Follow the setup Instructions (Clover) by tonymacx86: Click
  • Note: BIOS Reset by Default. Then I have disabled Intel Graphics, and changing the X.M.P to: Profile1. Everything else as Default, eventually extra changes after installation.
  • 3. Install OS X Yosemite
  • Note: I have used one of the Attached config.plist from tony's guide for Installation.
  • 4. Post-Installation (Specific Kexts) referring to your hardware. (Follow tonymacx86 Guide)

What Worked Out of the Box:

  • Graphics: nVidia GTX 770
  • USB 2.0: all ports
  • USB 3.0: all ports
  • Monitor USBs: all ports
  • Everything else just perfect

Ω What Needed Kexts:

  • Audio (ALC1150) Kext & Patch in Clover (Toleda Method): Audio CloverALC
  • Network: Qualcomm Atheros Killer E2200 LAN
  • Network: Intel® GbE LAN

X What Doesn't Work:

  • Sleep (After woke no Sound)
  • Monitor Sleep (After woke GPU remain at the Maximum State)

Fixes_ And Optional Things

:ch: Fix #1: Graphics show 0 MB on “About this Mac” issue:

  1. Open Clover Configurator > Mount EFI Partition
  2. Navigate to EFI/EFI/Clover/config.plist (Open it)
  3. Go to Graphics section
  4. On VRAM Box, set your amount of RAM, available on your GPU, but in MB.
  5. (For example i have 2GB RAM, so in MB will be 2048)
  6. Save, restart and Done!

:ch: Fix #2: TRIM SSD Activation:

  • Before this steps, better check your TRIM Status first.
  • If your TRIM is Enabled, then skip this steps.
  • To check the TRIM Status > Click "About this Mac" > System Report
  • Navigate to the Section: SATA/SATA Express.
  • There you should be able to see TRIM Support: YES/NO. If is NO, then follow this steps.
  • Download this Software: Link
  • Install it and Click Enable TRIM. After restart you can uninstall the Software if you wish, TRIM will remain enabled.

:ch: Fix #3: Boot Resolution / Clover Menu / Apple Logo not at the maximum supported resolution:

  1. Open the Clover EFIv2Bootloader Installer and follow the Instructions:
  2. Next, Next, then hit Customize
  3. Go to > Drivers64UEFI and Select > CsmVideoDxe-64
  4. Note: On some hardware, this may cause Clover to fail to start. It may also be a contributing factor of a kernel panic when waking from sleep. Use with precaution.
  5. Then hit Install. After the Installation is complete, Restart.
  6. Enter in BIOS and verify if CSM is Enabled.
  7. Save and Exit Setup.
  8. Done! Now your Clover menu / Apple logo on Boot should display properly.

:ch: Fix #4: GPU Power Management / Stuck at the Maximum State after opening Applications / States are not Changing:

  • First: Make sure that you have enabled nvda_drv=1 in your config.plist (Clover Configurator > Boot section)
  • Download the Flat Package Editor (FPE) from Apple Developer Website: Click
  • Note: Login Required (Your Apple ID)
  • Search for “Auxillary Tools”
  • Download the “Auxillary Tools Late July 2012” .dmg
  • Mount the .dmg and Right Click to Package Maker to show the package contents
  • Browse to /Contents/Resources and copy the “Flat Package Editor” and paste it to Applications
  • Open the NVIDIA Web Driver package by using the Flat Package Editor
  • Drag the Distribution file to your desktop
  • Open the Distribution file using TextEdit
  • Scroll down to the line or search the line:
  • var system_models = ["MacPro3,1", "MacPro4,1", "MacPro5,1"];
  • Add at the end of the line your system definition (my is iMac14,2). Should looks like this:
  • var system_models = ["MacPro3,1", "MacPro4,1", "MacPro5,1", "iMac14,2"];
  • Note: Make sure that you don't use smart quotes which look like italicised quotation marks.
  • Hint: You can disable smart quote from TextEdit>Preferences.
  • Save the Distribution.
  • Go back to (FPE) and delete the Distribution file from that Window
  • Drag the edited Distribution file to the (FPE) Window and save the package
  • Done! Run the package and you should be able to Install the NVIDIA Web Driver

Finally, after all this work, reading and trying, I have my first Hackintosh Ready :). Everything run Smooth, Cool & Quiet. Only issue is with Sleep, but anyway i don't use sleep mode, so... for me is no problem. Also i want to mention that i don't use ACPI Files (DSDT/SSDT) and runs just great without.
