- GTX 980 Ti + Quadro K600
Hardware:
legacy bios,
i7-870 CPU
Motherboard: acer h57h-am2
Intel 5 series Chipset
SATA 2
SSD OCZ vertex 3
GPU1: Nvidia GTX980TI (In PCIeX16 slot) disabled in clover
GPU2: Nvidia Quadro K600 (in PCIeX1 slot) enabled for Mac OS only (Disabled in Windows device manager)
Both GPU connected to both screens at the same time:
Second GPU slot X1:
CPU Cooler changed to take external case air from back:
GPU moved away to free PCIe slot
The temperature of GPU was 76-85 before modernisation but now it never cross the 63-65 C degree on Fallout 4 with Maximum graphic settings.
Quadro is OK as well.
I am using hackintsoh from Snow Leopard on this hardware without issue up until Catalina.
For Catalina upgrade, I had to buy a Quadro k600 and saw through one PCIeX1 as in the picture.
Installation process straight forward from here - https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...alina-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.285366/
The only issue I had is open core boot loader and new versions of Clover is not working on this hardware confuguration.
This is only working with Clover 5119!
If you have same hardware make sure you installing CLOVER 5119 first and then just copy my EFI files to your EFI drive
(Don't forget to generate new profile in SMbios clover tab for MacPro6,1)
In order to SATA controller working with SSD please do the next:
Install it on HDD first! SSD will not working at this stage. Once get installed,
Copy AHCIPortInjector.kext and the AppleAHCIPort_orig.kext to your L/E and rebuild Kext Cahe and repair Permissions
I am using Hacktool v3.4.0 for installing kexts or you can do it in terminal
Then clone HDD to SSD with Carbon Copy cloner. Then it will boot and recognize all SSD's
I am using OCZ Vertex 3
Planning to try RAID 0 of 2 SSDs for better performance. I will update this post incase of success.
Hopefully it save your time if you have similar hardware.
