My setup is following:
Intel Core i5 3570K
Asus P8Z77-V Pro
Asus Radeon 7970
512GB Crucial MX100 Dedicated SSD for OSX, no other drives attached when installing
(Windows SSD that will be added later, if windows is to be reinstalled, I will remove OSX Drive until it is done)
After a rough start and frustration I managed to get most things working.
Critical step for success:
Patching the newest Bios & flashing it with Asus Flashback feature.
Hint: Don't give up if first USB stick doesn't work for this. I was about to throw my whole rig down from the balcony at some point, but then ended up testing the bios update with a second USB-stick and that fixed my issue. Suddenly flashback worked and didn't just blink for an error. (32GB Transcend USB 3.0 stick instead if age old 2GB USB 2.0 stick).
I think I patched the bios with the UEFIPatch tool here.

The reason I recommend Flashback feature is simple. If you have new enough BIOS in your board, you can't Flash modified Bioses as the checksum of the file doesn't match. Flashback seems to circumvent this issue. I tried downgrading bios version first within the bios, but I didn't manage any of the versions to update to patched bios.
Before patching my bios, I could not reach installer no matter what I tried. For me it was crucial!
In bios I disabled secure boot, wifi & bluetooth (I saw some error messages when trying to boot to installer regarding bluetooth so I just decided to disable them as an easy workaround)
Other than that everything was pretty easy and went almost according Official Yosemite Guide.
After Unibeast was finished, simple run of Multibeast and my rig was already running quite nicely.
I still had a problem that looked like this, but would not get fixed with the method 1:

Since booting from the Unibeast USB stick and selecting the OSX SSD still worked, I was not too worried. It turned out to be that one simple run of Chameleon Wizard was all that was needed to make everything alright.
Things that don't work:
Wifi / Bluetooth on the mobo + HDMI Audio through Radeon. I didn't bother trying too much for these as I don't need them so much. Maybe I'll try fixing the HDMI at some point, but for now I don't see much point in that as the minimal speakers in my monitor are worthless in terms of audio quality.
Things that are ugly:
OSX looks horrible on 27" FullHD screen. Coming from 15" rMBP it is ugly. Subpixel-smoothing under windows hides this a bit, but in OSX-fonts look pretty rough on low-dpi screens once you've gotten used to retina displays.
No hyper threading means only 4 logical cores and that doesn't look as nice as 8 in activity monitor / iStat pro...
Things I like:
Tempereatures, Unlike iMac Retina I don't have thermal problems
Cost, Even though I don't mind paying for good stuff I don't like the idea of paying almost $3000€ for an iMac that throttles under load when gaming in Windows etc. I like Johnny Ive's design, but thermal problems in a desktop Machine are unforgivable.
Upgradability, It'll be easy to double the memory to 32GB and more SSD if I want to run fancier virtualised setups. GPU is upgradeable when the VR gets properly released with high res screens and I need to be running 2560x1440 @ 90Hz with head tracking in stereo 3d etc...
To be tested:
USB-bluetooth dongle + Logitech Trackpad For Mac that are hopefully shipping from Amazon tomorrow.

I've been quite happy with this Hama USB bluetooth adapter. It worked just plug&play, though I've had some issues with audio choppiness with my BT headphones, but trackpad & keyboard work flawlessly.
