Hey all new member here and congrats on the site.I admit I have not taken the time to sift thru every post but I think what I am looking for would be pretty obvious.

In the custom mac section here
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac

there are recommended build lists.Would it be possible to also have a step by step guide to actually installing the os on the completed build. Many of us are probably used to the fairly easy windows install but not what is required here.

I tried yesterday for several hours on an asrock 775 board and kept getting stopped at an error about support files.I am willing to purchase the equipment listed for the itx build if I knew that following instructions would get me to the finish line.

Thanks for any help :D

Yes but I was thinking of a guide specific to the recommended build in question.
A walkthru if you will that can leave no doubt on the users part that he or she is installing the OS correctly and that at the end everything will be functioning properly. It seems to me that the final result will rely on the user either getting lucky or finding the correct post on this forum to guide them thru any trouble spots.

Check the User Builds section of the forum. There are many builds and guides there for various configurations. You may not find the exact configuration you are looking for, but with some research you should be able to weed out any incompatible hardware.

Yes I could do that, I will if I have to.
Since there is a recommended build section with components, if I may make a suggestion.
I would be willing to make a "donation" to this website for a package containing all files required and a step by step guide to build the hackintosh in question.I think at least some of that list may need updated as the itx board seems hard to find.
If this package were available to members who made donations I am sure we would have many happy members and some funds to support the site.

I know I am new here and I am not trying to offend anyone or tell you how to run the site.Just trying to get what we all came here for with as little pain and frustration as possible.

Will this provide me with instructions for the install?
It appears to be a program to run after the install is done to
finalize the install with drivers etc.

While I appreciate everything that entails
and will do this as soon as I purchase the hardware, I need to be able to install the OS successfully first, right?

If there was a guide for every set up that iBoot, Unibeast and Multibeast worked with you would need to search for it the same as right now.

There are so many compatible configurations as you can see in the guides section that it would be almost impossible for use to make a specific guide with all the hardware variables.
That would entail buying every bit of hardware which is financially impossible.

That is why with have the user guides section for users who have different configurations to post guides on how they got OS X working on their systems.

I can also say that the "generic" iBoot + Mutibeast guide works with every compatible build out there. You need to make sure your hardware is compatible and you under stand how Multibeast works and what to choose on it.

Yes you do.

For Snow Leopard the step by step instructions are provided on the iBoot + MultiBeast page that TheSmartGuy linked above, and i have linked here:

For Lion, the step by step instructions are given on the UniBeast page:

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
