[Guide][New VoodooI2C] Asus Vivobook S15 X510UAR 10.13+

Great, thank you saintno1997!!

A few things:

1. Are you 100% certain that your Vivobook is equipped with an ELAN1200? What do you see in Windows Device Manager? I get (values from all three devices):

ACPI\ELAN1300\1
HID\ELAN1300&COL02\5&D31F57F&1&0001
HID\ELAN1300&COL03\5&D31F57F&1&0002

2. Also my panel's EDID (same value via Mac Darwin Dumper + Windows Moninfo)

00FFFFFFFFFFFF0030E4730500000000001A0104A522137802CDE5955B558F271D505400000001010101010101010101010101010101243680A070381F403020350058C210000019000000000000000000000000000000000000000000FE004C4720446973706C61790A2020000000FE004C503135365746392D53504B320016

is different from yours

00FFFFFFFFFFFF00061012A0000000001C160104B5301B78226FB1A7554C9E250C505400000001010101010101010101010101010101143780A670382E406C30AA0058C110000018000000FC00694D61630A2020202020202020000000FE0041554F0A202020202020202020000000FE004231353648414E30322E31200A0049

I also see you did not set Vendor and Product ID in Graphics. Aren't those necessary? Mine (via FixEDID) are:
Vendor ID: e430 | Device (same as Product afaik) ID: 573

also different from yours which I see from your previous release:
Vendor ID: af06 | Device ID: 21ed

so everybody should find those values out via Darwin Dumper + FixEDID and set them individually.

3. And last but not least: what happens when you push the power button for a few seconds? Do you get the "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer" alert, or does your Vivobook shut down?

Awesome work, saintno1997, you really rock! Would be great if you can comment on 1. & 3.

Sorry for response late:
1. Yes, I have check my touchpad in win and ELAN1200 is correct, sorry for wrong information
2. I'll rewire fix EDID, thanks you!
3. Yeah, my button don't work too, use 'ctrl + insert' instead

saintno1997 that's helpful information. You'd like to know that with your previous EFI folder you shared first, the power button was working as supposed. Just revert back to it, press for 3 seconds and you'll see - no more choke/ kill power off.

Any idea what caused this regression? DSDT? clover config? SSDT? Symbios? (I saw you now use MacBookPro14,2, before was 14,1). I was not able to figure it out right away but I think your chances are better because you know which changes you made from EFI folder #1 to folder #2.

New EFI Ready uploaded with power button fix ! still dont know how it fixed =))))

great, thank you. That's even better - it might mean that you have magical powers now .. :D

[EDIT]oh BTW, I just see that on both your entry posting and on github.com it still says "8.Touchpad: ELAN1200" instead the correct 1300

I found how to sloved it ! just uncheck 'DisableASPM' :3, new update revert back to old config with uncheck DisableASPM because it more stable and performance

OK gotcha. I don't even see any DisableASPM option in Clover Configurator.

I like your Audio ID inject change to 3 for instant change/ auto-recognition between loudspeakers and headphones - YEAH :) !!

Are you aware that AsusNBFnKeys.kext is now missing in kexts/Other? After I copied it back and rebooted, keyboard lights + control were back.

Also with your updated release now my trackpad window dragging and text highlighting (via click down and drag) does not work anymore. After restoring the three Voodoo Touchpad kexts from your previous release it's working again as it should.

For those without Nvidia card it's most likely better to disable Nvidia under Devices in Clover.

Also for those using your config.plist as a base, you need to generate your own serial number under SMBIOS in Clover.

Preview what I can hopefully post next week after my next exam:
1. add how to swapp the WiFi card (there's some fine-tuning necessary to prevent bricking the WiFi card)
2. add a photo how I masked my touchpad's left 1/3 with some anti-static foil to prevent cursor jumping while typing because my thumb would always touch the touchpad surface when typing.
3. add some photos of how to remarkably improve sound quality by gluing a thin custom-made metal plate underneath.

i've updated system to last MacOS 10.13.4. everything works again except trackpad. Kexts are installed in L/E.
I'll upload all logs
---done---
Which file has been replaced? I remember that i've delete some apple kexts from S/L/E before install Voodooi2C, but i'm not sure.

Thanks

The 2 required Voodoo Touchpad kexts do NOT work from L/E but DO work from EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
