So I dreamt of a living room Mac. Something like a Mac Mini but - obviously - not with the price tag.
So I've bought me a run-of-the-mill chinesium NUC-style computer thingy based on an i7-4500 chipset.
And this thing works. Windows installs nicely and it gets me close to 3500 in Geekbench 4.
If I take the SSD out of my HP8300 (the one in my profile) and swap it into the i7, it does what it should. Nice.
If I try to install Mojave, it breaks down. SSD speed goes down so much you can count the pixels increasing in the Apple boot bar.
Obviously, I could just run the installer from my 8300 and then swap the SSD, but I want to know, why that happens. And since this thing also has mSATA, I might want to go for mSATA and not the SSD....
Standard Vanilla Unibeast. Standard Vanilla Mojave Image.
