Hello,

I was wondering if anyone might be able to assist me. I've been running my Hackentosh, that my friend built for me, since March and I love it. :D I've been having some problems with my video card not being current enough for my new photo editing software. I've just purchased a Gigabyte HD 5770 Silent Cell. I picked this one because the Database said it worked pretty much out of the box. I'm did some searching and couldn't find any answers on the process of updating for a new card. Please help!
Here's what I've got:
OSX 10.6.7
This was done with Multi-Beast 3.8.0
i3 3.07
Elite Group H55H-CM Motherboard
16gb of DDR3 1333mhz Memory
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2600 256
I am running 2 monitors and need to continue with both of them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

David

Assuming you have Chimera 1.6.0 installed. Then it is as simple as SWAP out the card and go from there.
your boot.plist should have GraphicsEnabler=Yes string

I don't have chimera installed. Can I just install it or is this something that had to be used in the creation of the system?

Thanks!

It's in MULTIBEAST or you can use the standalone version.
1010110101/Chimera-1.6.0.zip
Install it and test with your current VGA, once done you can shutdown PC, switch the VGA card and power it up. It should be auto detected and working OOB.

Re: Video Card upgrade help? Gigabyte HD 5770 Complete Noob.

Ok I guess I'm not out of the woods yet. Last night I was only able to test 1 monitor being that I have 2 Lacie CRTs and the Gigabyte 5770 will only support 1 analog monitor though the dual link. Went out and purchased a Samsung SA300 today to use as a palette monitor. I can't get the HDMI to run the monitor. So I'm only able to run one monitor still  Anyone know how it fix this?
