I have installed Blender 2.8, but in the preferences it is not recognized that my graphics card is OpenCL compatible. My Graphics Card is a Radeon RX 580 and OS X is Catalina.

OpenCL is no longer supported.

I am seriously considering going back to Windows for 3D which would be a pity because I love OSX design and workflow.

@johnny28,

Try using AMD's "Radeon ProRender for Blender" plugin which allows Blender to use Apples Metal 2 API :-
Details of the plug can be found in this AMD blog from last year :-

You can download the plugin from AMD's support site :-

I believe that the next release of Blender will be optimised for the Metal 2 API without the need for a plug-in.

Cheers
Jay
