According to your profile and earlier post you have a Clevo p170sm Laptop
If you have multiple systems add them to your signature or build signature.

Did you download the installer via High Sierra Patcher? I had the same problem with the stick I prepared using it. I was eventually able to get the full update from the App Store, which worked fine.

FYI - I also see you've got a GTX 970. I had to physically pull mine from the PCIe slot and use the on-board Intel integrated graphics in order to successfully install.

Hi i have managed to get it working - I installed sierra and then jumped from sierra to high sierra (seems to be something to do with high sierra patcher, as i managed to get the 5gb installer for high sierra from the app store this time). it is now working as it should and i have been able to run multi beast and Nvidia web graphics drivers (i have a 980 but the 70 was the closest i could find)

I just need to get the audio working. i added the 1220 kext in multi beast but it is not showing up in hardware - but that's a story for another thread if i get stuck again
