[solved] HP Probook 4530s no sound

Hi rehab,

Stock 4530s really

i3 CPU
4GB DDR3
30GB SSD (not stock)
Atheros network card

What other hardware details do you need?

Plus i have attached a copy of my IOReg.

ioreg shows audio working.

What do you see in SysPrefs->Sound?

in the sound settings

Sounds effects = funk. With the internal speakers selected.

output = there is one entry "Internal Speakers - Built in" and it is selected.

input = line in & internal mic, the internal mic is selected.

Verify speaker/headphones are enabled in BIOS. Also, test your hardware via Windows or Linux.

Try EC reset.

And try to restore vanilla AppleHDA to vanilla, then re-run ProBook Installer for "OS X support kexts". md5:

Speedy-ML:kext_patches.git Admin$ md5 unpatched/10.9.3/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleHDA
MD5 (unpatched/10.9.3/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleHDA) = 4984994896c25036b2a7fe213e8c3c92

Otherwise, fresh install...
