Hi everybody,

trying to build my first TonyMac... but can´t boot with iboot.

Bought everything as mentioned in the CustoMac shopping list:
Gigabyte H55M-UD2H F11 Bios
i5-760
2x2GB Ram Corsair XMS3 DDR3
1GB Samsung Spinpoint
EVGA NVIDIA Geforce GT 240 Superclocked
But: Sony Optiarc AD 7261 S (not AD 7241 S as mentioned)

Conected SATA from CD/DVD to SATA2_0
HDD connected to SATA2_1

I made the changes in BIOS as mentioned:

First Boot CDROM
2nd Hard Disk

SATA AHCI Mode to AHCI

ACPI Suspend Type to S3(STR)
HPET Mode to 64bit

The Computer starts.
iboot CD is in CDROM-Drive.

Then it says:

Loading Operating System ...

DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I tried different versions of iboot - no goal.

Do you have any suggestions? - Wrong CDROM-Drive?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Re: Disk boot failure with iboot

There are 2 possibilities.

1) problem with your DVDROM
2) iboot disk was not burnt properly.

to check problem #1, simply put your other OS like Win7 in the tray and see if it boots up.

Yep!
Thankk you ijhu. Problem fixed!
The CD´s were not burned correctly.
OSX 10.6.6. running.
Customizing tomorrow.
