Software for creating screencasts for youtube

i am looking for a software to record screen and audio. Best would be if there are settings for youtube.

i tried quicktime but it gave me a low volume in the output file...

Camtasia for Mac is a good choice but you'll have to pay for it after the free trial runs out.
Snagit costs about 50 dollars less and can do pretty much everything you'll need for Youtube videos.

Also search the Mac App store for other options. Many free options but the quality of screen capture goes down.
