Hello everyone

This is my first post :D

I had MacOSX running on my Dell Dimension E520. It worked fine. Unfortunately the internal Sata Controller seems to be broken now. :banghead: OsX won't boot any more. I tried all available Sata Ports. I also tried reinstalling on a new Harddrive. OsX Installer couldn't even format the Drive.

I'm not ready to give up just now after all the time and effort I put in Installing it. I want to buy an external Sata Controller. Does anyone of you know of a controller that.

a. Works in OSX
b. Can boot OSX
c. Is recognized during Installation

Can Mac OS X installation program find the drive?
OSX wont boot... Have you used Multibeast after 10.6.6 combo update?

Get a PCIe card. What card that works I dont know. Have you searched in the forum?

You'd need a Bootable PCIe SSD, and a Motherboard that can Boot an OS from a PCIe SSD. As far as people have tested with the OCZ RevoDrives, they haven't succeeded.

You could however try the OCZ iBiS, although I don't think anyone with a Hackintosh has used it yet.

Hm. My bad. Skimmed the Thread, got the wrong idea, sorry ^^

I think I'll do the following:

-Look for a Controller that supports both regular PCs and Mac
-That is able to boot

If I can get one cheap I'll just try
