Mobo: GA-X58A-UD3R http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
CPU: i7 3.06GhZ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115211
GPU: I need suggestions here :( I've got a GeForce 8600 that's not cutting it.
HD: 1TB Spinpoint
RAM: OCZ OCZ3G1600LV6GK DDR3 PC3-12800 1600 MHz Gold XTC 6GB Triple Channel Kits http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IT ... cx86com-20

etc.

Basically, a variation off the CustoMac new build. I want a higher end videocard.

Been itching to pull the trigger, just a little leery.

Mobo, CPU, RAM and HD all look like sound choices to me. I've heard good things about the ATI Radeon 5770 but I personally use a nVidia GeForce 9800GT. I run Adobe After Effects CS5 and Apple's Final Cut Pro pretty intensively and I'm happy with the performance.

What are you going to use the higher graphics for?

Sounds like we're doing the same things. I can run StarCraft II at Ultra but decided to just run it at high for a bit of a speed boost. The graphics look fine to me at that point anyway. Either of those two ATI cards look sweet, though I'm not that familiar with the 5850.

You can get the ATI Radeon 5770 at Newegg for about $30 cheaper than Amazon.

I think I'm going to settle with the 5770.

My last question is how to I make this desktop Hackintosh wireless internet compatible? I don't really want to use a USB stick because of the weakness.

Can anyone tell me where to go, or point me in the right direction?
