Power Management (speed step) on Asus Z77 MB (10.7.4)?

Has anyone been able to get the power management, or more specifically the speed stepping, to work on an Asus Z77 motherboard? I'm using the Asus P8Z77-M Pro with a 3570K, in 10.7.4? Every time I try booting without Null... I get a kernel panic, which I assume is because of the locked Asus UEFI bios, but if anyone has figured out anything clever, I know there are others like me who would love to know.

run mulitbeast 4.6.1 and install this
