OSx Snow Leopard won't boot.

OK, So I finally got to upgrade from SL to ML. I kept getting a white screen during the ML install. Much searching thru the forums here with lots of people suggesting fixes that worked for them. I saw someone (can't remember who or where so don't know where credit should go) say just touch any key and the install would resume. It worked!!!
