NVIDIA GTX 780M Limitations

Hello guys,

I know this is a forum for custom builders, and I have used this forum for that before. Great advice.

Here my problem is a bit different though. I bought a used 2013 i7 iMac for a really good price, because the seller said that it couldn't play 3D games. Me not being a gamer, don't care about that. Well, I thought it was working well for my purposes, but found out today that it cannot edit photos. If I try making a brightness or color adjustment in Photos for example, it simply has no effect. It can however make a red-eye adjustment, crop, and rotate photos. Any manipulation other than red-eye fix does not work.

Can anyone give me any tips here? If the discrete GPU is kaput, can I default to the on board Intel graphics?

I am just upping this to see if anyone can help. It seems that my iMac gets randomly frozen when loading some web pages, and these include some even without heavy graphics, such as my banking website. Chrome tells me "WebGL hit a snag". After 20 seconds, the computer responds again.

I wonder if I can just disable the Nvidia card and use the onboard Intel card instead.
