Hello,

I recently changed from fakeSMC (Multibeast) to virtualSMC 1.2 (opencore, OC gen X)
on an ASUS Maximus Hero X board Big Sur 12.2.1

I now have issue with the fans speed readings/adjustment.
VirtualSMC shows correct temps and fan speeds. But the adjustment does not work and shows incorrect ranges. I use Macs fan control. (no probs with fake SMC before, same Bios), other fan control software shows the same issues.

I can not adjust the speeds at all. I also did a nv/pram reset.

Thanks for help.
Regards

Have you resolved this issue? I too have had no luck controlling fan speeds.

No. virtualSMC does not support the fans on this board. At the End of the day, I bought a Mac mini M1. Same speed. cheap, noiseless, no issues. Use the PC only for Gaming now. Fiddling around does not make sense any more regarding the price auf the Mac now.
