I followed your steps dmazar and I got AppleHDA with ALC887 on my board!!!!!!!!!! SOUND WORKS!

I used the kext in post 7 thanks rafirafi!!!!!!!

and thanks to TonyMac for making the rollback and ALC887 HDA!!!!!!!

It works It works It works.... I have been trying for 3 days and hours and hours!!!




Just follow the instructions of dmazar if anybody else is having this problem!!!!

Hi,

is there any chance that there will be a kext that is compatible with AppleHDA 1.7?

I have a MSI H67MA-E35 motherboard and no ALC 887 next works despite the kext with front micro from dmazar, I really don't know how to get that stupid sound working! I have the feeling no one has the alc 887 codecs, I only read about 889 oder 888, kind of annoying...

Any suggestions?

Hi xxmacmanxx,
If none of the AppleHDA kexts work for you, you may try VoodooHDA. Can be installed from MultiBeast.

I have downloaded the Voodoo from here

I draged it to the extension folder then i have modified plist file on desktop and then i have moved it back to the content folder as you described.

Last step - I have repaired permission in disk utility.

am I right?
