Hey folks,

I'm looking to build a low-mid budget hackintosh with minimal hacking (kexts/dsdt/etc) and fairly low noise. Please let me know how you think this build looks and whether it raises any red flags for you.

Thanks!!

Thanks. I have visited your site - thanks for the good guides. I think the vid card I have chosen is a bit better performer for a similar price...and I'm going for an obviously cheaper/slower CPU... :)

Now I just gotta get the final go-ahead from the wife...and then pull the trigger...

Indeed... It's the price of silence...

Good Luck!

That's the thing - this one is fanless/silent as well. Supposedly it'll simply work with GraphicsEnabler=Yes, and it doesn't have crazy power requirements like some of these new cards do.

I was told by a friend that the GT240 would be a lot better performer than the 9800GT, but in doing some research it seems the 9800GT is actually better by a little bit....hrm.....

I guess if the GT240 saves me a bit of cash it's worth it....not much of a gamer....

Oh, you are right... Wikipedia seems to agree the GT240 is indeed slower than the 9800GT...

Good Luck !
