my new i7 build need help!!

i am new to the forums and have purchased some stuff from the advice i got. but am having second thoughts. i can return all my stuff if i want. so here is what i got and my proposed alternative. please let me know what yal think thanks

what i have:

i7-870
gigabyte p55-ud3
4gb ddr3 1333 corsair dominator ram
sapphire radeon 4870 1gb
ultra 650 power supply (yes its certified 80 plus)
ocz vertex 2 60gb ssd for booting
haf-x case

here is what im considering:

i7-950
gigabyte ga-xa58a-ud3r
6gb ocz 1600 gold ram

i wll be using same video card and psu as well as ssd
the video card was given to me so thats why im using it

i will be doing some gaming and photo editing and medie encoding. mostly i want a stable hackintosh and be able to have a good machine. thanks for any help!!

Yeah go with the new choice, my system is a beast and you'll have a very similar system to mine.

i7 960 is now the same price as i7 950. i7 960, 6 cores, is now the same price that i7 960 where. Intel lowered the price a week ago.

thanks for the replies. my main issue is that the i7-950 and 960 are more then i want to pay, i got a great deal on the 870 and just wanted to see in real world usage if i will see much difference in the system with photoshop and gaming. thanks again
