Hello everyone...

I've been looking at some parts to build me a High-End Hackintosh.
Since im realy new to this i dont know if everything will work just great.
Im planing on Dualbootting.
What about the Sleep ishues with socket 2011?

My Parts:
Intel Core i7 3930K C2 BOX, 3.2GHz, LGA 2011, 6C/12T
Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5, X79, LGA2011, SLI, CFX
Corsair CMZ16GX3M4X2133C11R, 4x4 GB, DDR3-2133, [email protected]
OCZ SSD Vertex 3 120GB, SATA-3, 2.5 Zoll
Corsair Carbide 500R Midi-Tower - white
Intel BXRTS2011LC, all-in-one Mini-Wakü CPU Cooler, LGA2011
Corsair TX850M - 850 Watt, Modular, 80 PLUS Bronze

What do you think?

There's no sleep and no speedstepp with X79 hackintoshes. Get a 3770K and a Z77 board. It has both of thoes working and it 95% as powerful as X79 and half the price.

Thx for the replay..

Its a good point, but im kind of scared to invest in "old" technology...
I mean the Z77 boards only have 4 RAM slots @1600Mhz

Dont you think you have to take a 2011 board if you want to have a system that is pritty much up to date for the next 3-5 years?

what is "speedstep" ?

Yea maybe its not as high-end as possible but its the best i can do with my budget and i think it
will work for about everything from video/photo edit, gaming to 3d rendering.

Do you guys think it would be smarter to go for a Z77 Chipset?

Yes its smarter to go with Z77.
Its actually not "old" its newer then X79.

i dont think its smarter, as long as you know what youre getting.
as in the power management issues (although sleep can be made to work with sleepenabler, not native but it works) and the actual performance differences with applications you are going to use.

if you feel that going 2011/x79 is best for you, and you have researched as much as possible, do what you feel is best.

Thx Guy’s

Thats just why im asking... So you think i will be good for the next few years if i use the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H with a i73770K?

I'm going to use the mac side for graphic design aka photoshop, inDesign and illustrator. sometimes im about to use cinema 4d and a CAD programm.
The windows side is just for gameing...

Thx for every advice!
