I'm about to receive a 2nd hard drive caddy to put in place of my optical drive on my laptop but I just wanted to clarify something.
I seem to remember reading that chimera only recognises 4 partitions.
Is that correct?
Is it 4 partitions per disk?
Or is it 4 partitions total?

You can not have whatever you can imagine, but chimera is not so limited.

You are definitely not limited to 4 partitions in the whole system. And you are also not limited to 4 partitions per disk.

If you format disk as GPT, you can have much more partitions then you'll ever need. If you need disk for OSX, this is probably what you'll do.

If you format it as MBR, you can also have more then 4 partitions (extended, logical partitions), but chimera can be installed only to primary ones (up to 4). Anyway, once chimera is loaded from primary partition, I think it can still boot OSes from extended, logical partitions (if you can OS on it).

Good to know, I plan on having 6 in total.
main hd = S/L + clone, Lion + clone,
2nd hd caddy in optical drive slot = Win7 + swap space
