2011 has been a great year for the Mac- the launch of OS X Lion, Sandy Bridge Macs, introduction of Thunderbolt, adoption of the Mac App Store, all resulting in gained marketshare for Apple.

What do you think had the biggest impact?

i think it's also important to know, that apples CEO, the inventor of all those fantastic products, died :*(

I'm not much of a fan of it and it's not really just for OS X as it works with iPhone too, but I think iCloud should be added to that list.

I agree it has been a good year for Mac. I'm just learning about Mac and a friend gave me a book called OS X Lion The Missing Manual. It is an extensive description of Lion in great detail.It may be of interest to some of the other noobies or others not very familiar with Lion. It is available from Amazon. Use tonymacx86 link.
