I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to a 5700 XT, and get a bigger monitor (likely a Philips 42.5" 436M6VBPAB 4K).

I saw a review for a (different) big monitor that Mac drivers were needed but none were available (only for Windows):
A review on amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/R2JU2WQIS7/?tag=tonymacx86-21

But I thought any monitor would be supported (via DP as it would by DVI) in OSX, just like Windows it would load a basic driver?
Or is the above review more likely a GPU not powerful enough to give 3840x2160 resolution?
Is anyone else already running big resolutions with no specific driver for their monitor(s) or issue?

I'm currently running two monitors, both via DVI (one is an old Dell 30" @ 2560x1600), which is why a new monitor with DisplayPort would be a new connector for me.

Thanks for any thoughts!
