Hej!

Again I need your help. I'm trying to follow this guide, but I'm stranding at UniBeast.

2. UniBeast only works on English language systems and is not supported using any other language.
The only thing that I can do, is go to settings and change the language to english, which I did (including logoff and login). Or am I forgetting something?

4. UniBeast will detect which purchased install applications you have in /Applications and will only allow for choosing one if you have multiple versions.
No, it doesn't. I have ONLY Mountain Lion in the applications folder but still it offers me to use Lion or Mavericks. So I checked Mountain Lion and continued.

11. When running on Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) you must be running OS X 10.6.8 with the Apple Software Installer Update 1.0 installed. Otherwise you will see "The operation couldn’t be completed. CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED" in the install.log.
Done. Still doesn't work.

12. Most UniBeast failures are due to your purchased copy of Install Mac OS X Lion.app or Install OS X Mountain Lion.app not being in /Applications or being corrupted.
Indeed this was the reason why my first attempt failed. So I redownloaded Mountain Lion and it still doesn't work.

Here's the log from the console:

Code:

In Console choose /var/log -> install.log
Does that mean /private/var/log ?

This is what I found:

Download the Install app from the App Store again.
Unfortunately that's not possible.

I purchased it in the App Store when it came out but obviously the installer was corrupted. Since redownloading it is not possible anymore, I had to buy it again in the Apple online store. You can see the outcome in this thread. Obviously the new download doesn't work either.

I still can't redownload Mountain Lion in the App Store and also can't download it from the Apple online store again, because I can only download it once from there.:banghead:

It seems, that this is the point, where my ambitions to have a hackintosh collapse.

It only remains for me to say thank you for your effort and patience.

BieneMeier

Follow up... I had to download again a second time myself and I can confirm that I didn't have to pay twice. Just delete the installation from your Applications folder, go into App Store, look under Purchases, and click Download.

Strange thing was there was confirmation window to tell me that it was downloading again but I could tell the network activity was going crazy so I figured it was doing something. 3 hours later I had a new ML Install on my desktop (or under Applications).

Have fun!

Mysterious things going on here… o_O

I had to reinstall the OS on my wife's MacBook (Snow Leopard). After doing so, without any obvious reason Mountain Lion started to download (again). So now I do have an installer USB stick. :headbang:

Just delete the installation from your Applications folder, go into App Store, look under Purchases, and click Download.
That didn't work btw, cause Mountain Lion isn't available in the App Store. Apple sent me a download link via E-Mail after purchasing Mountain Lion in the Apple Webshop, which I weren't able to use twice.
But now it worked anyway, I don't know why and how, though. *shrug*

Since I'm not expecting the installation to go well without any problems, I'm confident, that I will be able to report my further progress in the next thread.

Thanks and bye for now!
